Interview with Patrick LAURENT, Actor, scriptwriter, screenwriter

> What were the main points of your education to’writing of Scenario ?
The outlines were first to give them a general idea of cinema, what is that movie, the construction of a film, drama film… So there were the first two or three days devoted to the dramaturgical problems, teaching general principles. I approached slowly…
The third day we watched a movie famous, which is wonderful for studies, this is « Vertigo » Hitchcock because there are all the problems and all the solutions.
Then on the fourth day, I taught the rules, U.S. revenue, traditional rules, in the warning precisely, constantly on the use of these revenues… Too often it leads to the same film endlessly.
And since yesterday, we construct a short, together, we will finish earlier.
So we have a short film that will probably be built near 35 minutes.

> What did you think of your students ?
They work very hard. I'm a little exhausted, but here, they take a little language, end of day, they are cooked, but they hold, they work, they are struggling, really. I find them absolutely épatants.
Some perhaps will go to the cinema and then may go elsewhere, I do not know, others will not do of course, but here, if they want to do Documentary, shorts, they have the tools in hand.
I wish that at the end they have a really short film written by them, built by them, because my gut tells me we will have a beautiful short film on arrival. Really.

Interview de Tareparepa TEINAURI, student

> Why Thee registered to DU ?
I signed up to the THE audiovisual professions because I am interested in these jobs, I practice ;

> You are 12 students, how it goes ?
Some are graphic designers, others are sound, Stock, … We are really different levels. We 12, with 12 different views, we must defend his ideas when some do not agree, it is a work rich, much richer than if we had been led to conduct independent.

> What this training screenwriting brought you ?
Generally here, everything you touch, but without really knowing up a project from beginning to end.
On this « I have a good idea, what do I do with, how I work to get to the final to make a film ? ». This is the beginning ; This is the logic : his idea, put it in writing and then make a movie.

We see that it is really a real job to write scripts, it is not just to write a little history like this… We have an idea in mind, after to put in writing, to describe images, it is very difficult. We did not think it was actually difficult to write a script.
I do not know if I'll write scenarios but at least I know now that it is working and then when I work on a film and if I be required to work with a writer, I know how it works, for the base in any case. This is very useful.

> What do you think of the speaker, Patrick Laurent ?
We feel that this is someone's job, so it's nice. He did not come just to make a theoretical letting us then we manage. These last two days, we turn to the practical, we write a script with him, So we're really at the heart of things. This is what we wanted.

It is really interesting to have had someone of business, who knows and who shared with us his experience in helping us build our own.

Interview de Aumiti KIMITETE, student

> Why Thee registered to DU ?
I participate in this degree for careers in broadcasting because I would not stay on the basis that I have acquired, be open to multiple databases lessons, and simultaneously, because it is the first university degree Polynesian with respect to the audiovisual, I am proud to participate.

> This is the first module, that of scriptwriting, how it happened ?
The module scriptwriting is rather exciting since you actually understand all the efforts that the writer did when he wrote a story.
On the one hand, it opens your mind ; you know what to expect, you know that the person who wrote the script is put all his guts, and if you become a director yourself and you have to realize this scenario, Respect pair, Your t'y tiens, you try to be in harmony with the writer.

Together, I think it can allow several people to write down what they have in mind.

> Qu'en retiendras-tu ?
Now, it is really a separate business, and I do not know if I personally see myself becoming writer. Should be almost a whole year to work on methods scriptwriting, on different visions of writers… It would be a push to further study.

Interview de Ariimoana TEROROTUA, student

> Why Thee registered as THE ?
I am fascinated by the visual, particularly the cinema. I wanted writing techniques. Having a professional film that comes to show us how to do all that is interesting and I would like to be my turn professional.

> What have you learned during this first training module ?
You must know the methods and once you've gained can afford to free themselves. Therefore, it can only be beneficial to have completed this module.

It was very intense, not easy to follow but psychologically and intellectually at the same time, it had the advantage of forcing us to put more in., and I think that's a good thing that is finally bringing to think more, more intensively.
I think it will make sure that I can be taken seriously. After this training, my method of writing is more amateur, without, still be professional.
