Christophe Holozet : The horue was established by the first office on Popoti club. From the outset, nous avons voulu créer quelque chose pour les jeunes de Tahiti et pour les surfeurs de Papara principalement. And gradually it took the volume, people began to appreciate, perhaps because from the start we had foreign participants and it became an open slowly is international.
Maina Sage : On applaudit bien fort la Nouvelle Zélande « kia ora ». This is the water symbolising Hawaï “aloa”. Please welcome Australia. Ia Orana Tahiti ! Mauruu applauded, vive le Horue 2001 !
Kanoa Daling : The compétition se passé vraiment bien. There is a great atmosphere. People are really nice ; everyone has a good time ! As in all competitions, there is a little competition, mais tout le monde est cool… Je suis content de participer, I'm in Hawaii with friends and I really enjoy the moment. It's great to be here, and I hope it will continue like that ! First day of competition of the horue 2001

COMPETITION
Created in 1990, le Popoti Surf Club est à l’origine de plusieurs manifestations en faveur du développement du surf local, including OPT horue, one of the most important local surfing competitions and certainly one of the most awaited and most appreciated. It brings together more than eighty local and international surfers. The OPT horue became a rendezvous annual surfing festival. This is also the key to its success : make this event a fun time and cultural exchanges, with the organization of various events : fashion, surf night session, concerts … This competition has helped many local surfers to compete with foreign surfers and make themselves known. In June 2002, as every year, the beautiful black sand beach Papara has hosted this first surfing competition of the season, the twelfth edition of the Opt horue. Conditions : Weather, and big swell, current. Vagues of 1m50, rough sea.
